Who Says Mares and Stallions Can't Be Friends? I
Derpy trotted up the stairs to Dinky’s room, and cracked the door. Dinky and her best friend Rumble were staring at each other making funny faces, trying to get the one another to laugh. Derpy smiled as she pushed open the door.
“Hi guys!” Derpy announced her presence cheerfully; Derpy was always in a good mood.
“Hi Derpy!” Rumble said finally breaking his gaze with Dinky.
“Rumble, your brother called, he says he wants you to be home for dinner early.” Derpy said disappointed to break up the two friend’s fun.
“Oh Thunderlane is so needy these days.” Rumble joked; Rumble lived alone with his brother Thunderlane.
“Bye Rumble!” Dinky called before Rumble rushed out the front door.
Derpy watched Rumble make his way home. The street light had just come on and the last bit of the sunset had faded away. Derpy was glad that Dinky has a friend. It made Derpy shiver to remember the hardship she had when she was in school. Ev
Dateless (Spike x Sweetie Belle short fanfic)AUTHOR'S NOTE: Just a little one-shot I wrote to go along with this art:
I apologize that it isn't very polished, I didn't want it to get too long XD This story is 100% fluff shipping and rated G!
This could have been the year Spike finally asked Rarity to the Grand Galloping Gala. It could have been, had he not been fully aware that the unicorn he fancied was going comfortably steady with Applejack. The two mares now swept over and over the dance floor together, sparkling in the coordinating ballgowns Rarity had sewn for them, all swishing taffeta and lace studded with gemstones.
Spike looked on, trying not to feel lousy about showing up at the gala without an official "date". He had, after all, come as one of Twilight's special guests, as he had done for years; shouldn't he feel happy and honored to be included so often in these historical, equine festivities?
He sighed, retreat
Twist, the Filly Sitter.I Can Do Thith!
Twist, for her part, was having the same reaction as the two little ponies sitting in front of her, confused and unsure, but for her part, she was feeling nervous too. She wasn’t scared at all, unless all the stories of how little fillies really could be demons from Tarterus, it was more that she had never met the two before. They did look innocent enough though, one being a colt, the other a filly, both somewhat the same color to her, but the distinct difference being the shade of their fur. Without her own glasses, she would not have been able to tell them apart, if it wasn’t for the fact that they were at least wearing different clothes, or that their hair was really distinct between the two. Still, being a gray color was not uncommon in Ponyville, it was just odd to see another pair of twins again. Especially when she factored in the note that they were orphans that were both adopted. She heard somewhere that some parents would only adopt one child
Babs and Twist's first fight. The First Time is Always the Worst
By a Wasp!
Babs walked in circles at the Apple farm, very stressed and not knowing what to do. It had been an accident for sure, and she hadn’t meant any of what she had said. Oh how she wished she could just go back in time with a spell and fix everything. To bad she wasn’t a Unicorn with magic. She sighed once again, and kept walking in circles. She had to fix this somehow, and she would come up with a solution. Hopefully she could still at least be friends with her. ‘But what if she doesn’t ever want to see me again! Oh god, what if I just screwed up my only chance ever for having a happy life! Stupid Stupid babs!’
Through the window of the house, Applejack could only look on at her cousin with a frown. She had come back from town today and hadn’t said a word to anypony. In fact, she was acting different than she usually did. Babs would usually put up this tough girl act and show her pride with how she worked and
We Kill 'EmThe unicorns and dragon were walking along the overgrown path, swatting ticks away from their legs and pants. Twilight suddenly stopped, she looked around, her ears twitched. She scowled and pulled the three into the bushes.
"What's wro-" Sweetie Belle began.
"SHH!" the purple unicorn shushed her, her ears back.
A group of stallions walked past, laughing and carrying on. They were covered in blood and one had a large bag draped over his shoulder. They watched them from their hiding place, Sweetie bit down a gasp as the bag squirmed and made gurgling noises.
They waited a few minutes after they passed. Twilight was first to come out followed by Spike, then Rarity and Sweetie.
"What do you think was in the bag Twi?" Spike looked to her.
"Nothing good..." she snorted.
"What do we do now? We can't keep walking on this path or we'll meet up with those stallions eventually." Rarity looked down the path.
"Then we get off the path.." she said simply, glancing at her then walking into the trees
Do you even know Babs? Do you even know Babs?
(p.s. Can’t do lisp, so have to learn )
It was that time yet again for the apple family, apple bucking season. Though every year the Apples would try to expand and grow more trees, they realized it meant more work for them. This year though, they realized that there may have been too many apples for them to handle on their own. Even with Applejacks friends, there were just going to be too many trees to go through in such a short time. It didn’t help that they had a deadline that was shorter than any time before. So for this bucking season, GrannySmith called over to the city and asked if “little” Babseed could come out and help for the time being. Of course, being family (and getting some pay), Babs
Dear Twilight Sparkle“Dear Twilight Sparkle”
by Donny’s Boy
dedicated to DerFurShur
Thursday was Applejack’s favorite day of the work week. On Thursdays Applejack worked the western fields of the orchard, and on Thursdays Twilight Sparkle practiced her flying in the eastern fields. On this particular Thursday, Applejack happily trotted down the rows of trees, long straight lines, as neat and tidy and organized as any orchard could ever wish to be, but her eyes kept skyward.
Applejack had never once wished to be anything but the earth pony she was. Nor could she imagine losing that magical and instinctive connection to the ground and plants and nature that all earth ponies felt. Even so, she’d always enjoyed watching pegasi as they soared through the clouds. It was like watching dancing, except way high up in the air. And despite Rarity’s accusations to the contrary, Applejack could appreciate a bit of prettiness here and there in life--a bit of sugar and ci
She Blinded Me With Science, 1
"You would have loved to see Twilight Sparkle in action today. I've always known she was brave and heroic and smart, but I never really knew how much of a hero she was until I saw her charge that monster! Even after being smushed, squashed, stung, and running halfway across the Everfree Forest to find Fluttershy, she still saved me not once but TWICE! It was AMAZING! I was scared stiff by the hydra, but Twilight whooshed back and got me, saving me from certain eatedness! And then, she did the same for Spike, and THEN, as if THAT wasn't enough, she charged that big ugly monster so that we could get away! Oh my gosh it was the coolest thing I've ever see! And I've been around Dash for YEARS! It was like, PYOOM! 'You can't have my friends!' And she charged in like a superhero! I felt bad for not helping out, but I couldn't stop shaking the whole time. I wasn't sure if it was 'cause of my Pinkie Sense or that hydra or 'cause I was scared Twilight was go
The Games we Used to PlaySweetie Belle woke up to a midsummer morning to the noise of faint laughter. She threw off her light blue covers, made for her by her sister Rarity, and walked across her wooden floor to the window on the other side of the room giving her a view of the outside. Outside three kids, two fillies both earth ponies and one unicorn colt, were playing tag giving Sweetie Belle the melancholic feeling of nostalgia.
The white unicorn filly looked to her right where she had a picture on the wall. Depicted on that picture were her and her two friends, an earth pony filly named Apple Bloom and a pegasus filly named Scootaloo, back when the three were younger. As she looked at the picture and heard the laughter from the foals outside a feeling of loneliness set in the teenage unicorn’s heart.
Apple Bloom’s…still with her relatives practicing her carpentry work, Sweetie Belle thought somberly. And Scootaloo’s…probably hanging around her coltfriend again today
Character Dynamics: Contrasting CharactersA long ass and somewhat all-over-the-place thought piece on the dynamics of character interactions.
Something I have taken notice to is that I commonly subscribe to Character Contrast Pairings, which isn’t about putting characters into romantic relationships but pairing them up closely with characters having opposite traits. In fiction this is called a Foil (a character who contrasts with another character in order to highlight particular qualities of the other character). However, in fiction a foil usually deals with several contrasting elements, from appearance to personality. But I’ve broken down a subset of different contrasting qualities. This is by no means a complete list, but a list of conflicting qualities that I either find common or have made personal use of. I also do not claim to be the “creator” of these qualities but am simply compiling them and adding on my own thoughts. You’ll find there’s some overlap of qualities as certain c
